Solely responsible for this tech support business in Austin. Responsibilities include managing networks for businesses and fixing problems for individuals.
Work on Active Directory deployments, Exchange problems, backup systems, and Unix servers. Also work on Mac OS X and Windows home computers to fix viruses and solve printer problems. Regularly explain technical information to nontechnical users so that they know exactly what they need to make informed decisions regarding their business or personal data.
Neuric Technologies (May 2008 - Present)
Role: System Administrator
Sole administrator and tech support specialist for a network of several servers, Windows-based Active Directory infrastructure, Linux email and shell servers, and firewall. Responsible for security of sensitive information.
Accomplishments: Migrated the company from an OpenLDAP backend authentication system to Active Directory. Inherited no documentation on the network and wrote comprehensive docs from scratch.

Worked as a linguist with a small team researching and proposing solutions for natural language parsing problems. Accurately communicated technical linguistics information to non-linguists and non-technical managers.
Accomplishments: Helped to design and build a model of the English language based on an inheritable predicate argument system of semantic roles.
